Popular Nigerian rap artiste, Naeto C, has
revealed why it took him three years to
release his fourth album.
In a chat with Pulse, Naeto C, the rapper and
father of one also revealed how parting ways
with Storm Records affected the release of
his album and musical career as a whole.
How come it took you about three years to
release an album?
To be honest, it took me a while to release
this album because a lot of things were
happening with the label, Storm Records that
I was working with. The label had problem
and it affected what we had already built.
You see the success of other prominent
record labels in the country and you can see
what some artistes have done for the record
label. It shows. I did not have that. Even
when I got married, I was still releasing songs
but what happened with Storm Records
affected me a bit and things were not the
same again. It was no longer fun to do music
there because those were the people I started
with. Having to lose the people I started with
did not put me in a very good mood to do
music. I later got over it and I have been
working on this album. It is more of a
personal thing.

France Launched Airstrikes against ISIS targets in Syria on Sunday night

France launched airstrikes against Isis targets in Syria on Sunday night, with jets bombing the Islamist terror group's stronghold of Raqqa.

The strikes came hours after France and the US pledged to step up the campaign against Isis in response to the chilling, co-ordinated terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 129 people and wounded more than 350.

Activists in the city have said the bombings have caused “panic”, but the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said it had “no information about casualties so far”.

Islamic State’s media arm, Amaaq, claimed the airstrikes hit sites that had already been abandoned, and that no-one was killed

The air strikes late on Sunday were the first since the Paris attacks, and saw 12 French air force planes drop 20 bombs on Isis positions.

Sunday's bombing was the biggest French air raid that has taken place in Syria so far, and was described as a "massive" attack by a French defence ministry spokesman.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the first target that the planes destroyed was a command post, which housed a recruitment centre and arms and munitions depot.

Guinness denies usage of expired raw materials

Mr Sesan Sobowale, the Director,
Corporate Relations in Guinness Nigeria,
on Friday denied that the company ever
used raw materials considered to be
expired by NAFDAC.
He said that the company had already
gotten extension on the ‘best before date’
from the supplier of the malt extract in
question.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls
that NAFDAC imposed one billion naira
fine on Guinness over alleged usage of
expired raw materials in the company’s
production lines.
Sobowale told journalists in Lagos that the
company usually considered due process in
the way it destroyed expired raw
materials.
Sobowale said that the company usually
destroyed its expired products and
materials at Ado-Ado in Ogun State with
relevant documents from government.
Sobowale, also the Company Secretary,
said that prior to the day NAFDAC visited
the warehouse, it had fumigated the place
in Oct. 25 to prevent rodents from
entering the warehouse.
He also said that the company, upon
receiving a letter from NAFDAC, replied
NAFDAC with the documents seeking
approval on the extension of “best before
date”.
Sobowale said that Guinness also got
relevant papers from the Ado-Ode Local
Goverment on disposal of expired raw
materials.
Other papers presented included the
certificate on the pest control treatment
from a company called AC Fumen
International and the FSSC 2200 ISO
certificate
The Managing Director of Guinness
Nigeria, Mr Peter Ndegwa, said that the
company would not compromise on the
highest standards of quality which were in
line with globallly accepted code of
manufacturing practice.
He said that those standards had also be
so-certified by NAFDAC and the Standards
Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
Ndegwa said that company believed more
in its reputation than the financial
benefits it gained from the sale of its
products

NDLEA uncovers drugcartel in Enugu Airport#

The National Drug Law Enforcement
Agency (NDLEA) on Friday said it has
uncovered a suspected drug trafficking
cartel at the Akanu Ibiam International
Airport (AIIA) Enugu.
This is contained in a statement issued by
the agency’s spokesperson in Lagos, Mr
Mitchel Ofoyeju, which was made available
to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to the statement, two officers of
the agency, Daniel Goska and Ndubuisi
Ughor, who are indicted and currently at
large, have been summarily dismissed and
declared wanted.
“Other suspected members of the group
include Ifeanyichukwu Dayson, a key
member of the drug trafficking
organisation, and Emmanuel Okorie an
Operations manager with Ethiopian
Airline,’’ it stated.
