The every last Saturday mandatory clean up of
Lagos from 7am to 10am has now been
cancelled.
Accoding to a statement made available by
the state Commissioner for the Environment,
Babatunde Adejare, during the ministry’s
monthly media chat in Lagos today, the
monthly exercise will be jettisoned because of
its cost to the state’s economy.
The commissioner disclosed that the state
governor Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has decided
that the state cannot afford to shut down a
mega city like Lagos for a period of 3 hours.
Mr. Adejare noted that environmental
sanitation should rather be a daily exercise
and charged residents to make it a way of
life.
The commissioner also vowed that the state
will shut down markets violating the state’s
environmental laws.

Reaveled!! Chibok Girls Abduction Was Fabricated To Out sit Jonathan – Fayose
Fayose accuses Buhari of deluding Nigerians
over Chibok girls
– He claims that the abduction was a mere
political fabrication
Ayo Fayose, the governor of Ekiti state, has
claimed that the rumour of the abduction of
the Chibok girls was mere political fabrication
meant to oust ex-president Goodluck Jonathan
from the office at all costs.
He has accused the federal government of
deceiving Nigerians over the alleged missing
schoolgirls, supposing that the All Progressives
Congress used the situation to defeat Jonathan.
Fayose said he viewed with delight the
advocacy of Oby Ezekwesili-led Bring Back Our
Girls group, which has been pressing for the
recovery of the missing girls.
“You can’t get what is not missing,” he stated.
Fayose, speaking in Ado Ekiti during a two-day
workshop organized by Women Arise for
Change Initiative, said: “The cries over missing
girls were just a political strategy. What could
Boko Haram have used to carry those girls?
However, if truly missing, they should be
recovered. One thing I know is that what is
not missing you cannot get.”
“It pains me that some of the human rights
activists had gone since the advent of
President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.
They have lost their voices. Where were they
when DSS invaded the Ekiti House of Assembly
and arrested a lawmaker and locked him up?
“They were flouting court’s orders at will and
victimising opposition. It is better we
collectively speak up now or we are consumed.
“In some homes, men had cowed their wives
and made them subservient. The wives have no
rights to claim or defend. But before you can
claim anything, the wives or female in general
must be up to the task. You have to be
intellectually and socially alert.
“Don’t just, because you are a woman, lose
your voice. With this, women shall collectively
regain what belongs to them”.
The girls were abducted in April, 2014 by the
Boko Haram sect and had since been declared
missing by the federal government.
When the Chibok girls were kidnapped, some
key Jonathan supporters openly doubted the
story, and believed it was part of a grand
design by the north to bring down the Jonathan
government.
Nigerian army recorded a huge success in the
Boko Haram war, rescuing many people and resizing all territories from the insurgents.
However, despite all the efforts, the Chibok girls remain missing.

the Daily Post, the young boy who goes
popularly by the name Ekenem had visited
a native doctor to procure the love charm

man who looked like my son suddenly
found his way into my room at the wee
hours and I was speechless”

Police operatives said; “I am deeply sorry
for all that has happened, I did not mean
to do this. I saw myself falling in love with
her after the love charm was prepared for
me.
“I have to confess because I know by so
doing, God will touch her mind and I know
she will forgive me. I suddenly found that
I was making love to my mum when I

her and the matter was reported to the
police”

Music: How to Freestyle Rap
Freestyle rapping can be overwhelming at
first, but following these simple steps will
get you moving toward the mic in quic.
Unwritten freestyle raps from
straight off the dome will probably be somewhat rougher and more unpolished
than the tracks you've been listening to, but they can also be more unpredictable
and thrilling. Freestyle has its own feel and listening to other rappers freestyle
is a good way to learn the tricks of the trade.
*Check out live battles or hip-hop freestyle competitions if your town offers them. Go and listen. This can also be a good way to meet other
aspiring rhymers and make
connections.
*YouTube is a great resource for videos of freestyle battles from all eras. Everything from Notorious B.I.G. rapping on a street corner at the age of 17 to classic Eminem
battles to the smattering of
underground rappers free-styling over a new Kanye West track are good.
2. Start with a beat. Get a beat
without any words online or loop the instrumental of a song you love on YouTube, and let it play for a while. Get
a feel for the beat. If you've got a rhyming verse already written, start there, or try writing new rhymes as you
listen to the beat. Repeat it over and over until you've started to get a feel for
the cadence of the song and how your flow fits into it. Don't worry if you lose
the beat at first.
Begin with the downbeat. The vast majority of rap music is written with a traditional four-four time signature, also known as Common
Time. This means that every
measure will have a strong
downbeat at the beginning: ONE-
two-three-four-ONE-two-three-
four. Start on that beat.
Often, there will be blank space on tracks while the rapper is waiting
to come in. If you don't have
access to instrumentals or
YouTube, you can use those spaces to practice.
More tips coming, lets take a break now.

N 5m Falls Off Bullion Van In Lagos. ( Photo)
Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and
Special Offences Unit (Task Force) has
recovered N5 million that fell off a bullion
van on Lagos State House of Assembly
Complex, Alausa, Ikeja.
The money is said to have been lost
around November and December 2015.
Mr Taofik Adebayo, the Task Force
Chairman, Olayinka Egbeyemi, disclosed
that two police officers attached to the
agency recovered the money.
According to Egbeyemi, the two police
officers namely Sergeant Ogunbiyi Agbabu
and Inspector Eheziekia Abiona, disclosed
that a bullion van drove pass them while
they were on duty at the agency’s
headquarters and something fell down
which was later discovered to be N5
million.
The chairman, while commending these
officers, disclosed that similar thing was
done to him when he was Divisional Police
Officer (DPO) at Ilupeju Police Station
where he won an award for returning
$130,000 and 50,000 pounds to owners of
a bullion van where the money was stolen.
He thereby implored appropriate
authority, especially the Police Authority
and Lagos State Government to give
commendation to these rare officers for
their honesty and integrity so as to
encourage others.
Egbeyemi, however, stated that any bullion
van that drove through Lagos State House
of Assembly Complex around November to
December 2015 with a missing N5 million
should come forward with a strong cogent
proof of ownership of the money.
Nigerian refineries can’t meet demands even at optimal capacity – Kachikwu
Minister of State for Petroleum Ibe
Kachikwu, said on Tuesday in Abuja, that
the refineries in the country could not
meet local demand of petrol even if they
functioned at optimal capacity.
Kachikwu while briefing the Senate
Committee on Petroleum (Upstream) on
the lingering scarcity of petrol said that
the refineries if repaired, could not even
meet up to 50 per cent demand.
He said that the design of the refineries
had already created gaps in refining
Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) even if the
refineries were to function at full capacity.
``The design of the Nigerian refineries
was such that the component of PMS
versus other products was almost a 50/50
per cent relationship.
``Most world refineries now provide PMS
to about 70 to 80 per cent ratio.
``So, even if the refineries work as being
designed today, they will still provide less
than 50 per cent of what we consume in
this country.
``In any case, it is geared to producing
only half of that, but the design of the
PMS quotient of the total production is
only 50 per cent.
``So, even if it worked perfectly, we will
still have a gap, this is why we have gone
to try and increase the capacity,” he said.
The minister added that the ministry was
striving to utilise other sources of refining
petrol while also depending on the coming
on board of private refineries like Dangote
refinery.
He said that the non-performance of the
refineries was due to a number of factors,
including fraud and lack of holistic
maintenance.
The minister said that due to the long
period of non- maintenance, a lot of
components were bad and as such after
every major repair, another component
went bad almost immediately.
``We have also had issues of fraud, it got
to a point where I started wondering
whether as we repair this, somebody was
going out there to destroy, so that
contracting will be done.
``Over the last 10 to 15 years, we have
not done a serious, conclusive turn around
maintenance of these refineries; the
refineries are averagely 30 to 40 years old,
the equipment are far dilapidated.

Photos: See How UNILAG Students Where Arrested For Attempting To Resurrect Colleague
Four students of the University of Lagos,
Akoka, Lagos, have been arrested by the
Ogun State Police Command for
attempting to resurrect the corpse of a
300-level student of Microbiology, Eniola
Jacob .
The suspects are Inerima Alaniye (a 400-
level student of Mathematics); Awe
Raphael (a 500-level student of Law);
Adeboye Adeshola (a 200-level student of
Political Science); and Arawomo Stephen.
It was reported that Jacob allegedly took
an insecticide, Sniper, last Saturday on
the campus.
He was said to have been rushed to the
Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-
Araba, where he died on Sunday.
it was also reported that students who
attempted to resurrect his corpse were
leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim
Students Fellowship on the campus.
Jacob was said to have been a strong
member of the fellowship before his
death.
The Police Public Relations Officer,
Muyiwa Adejobi, said the students’
behaviour and actions at Jacob’s grave
were suspicious, adding that they had
been transferred to the State
Department of Criminal Investigation,
Eleweran.
The police spokesperson said during
Jacob’s burial, the four students
suddenly emerged and asked that the
corpse be exhumed.
He said, “They were arrested at the
graveside. They were arrested because
their actions were suspicious. They
insisted on exhuming the corpse that
had been buried. They said they wanted
to resurrect it. It came to us as a
surprise that in this modern age, some
group of young boys would come out
and say they want to resurrect a dead
man.
“We felt it was a strange development. If
they were not cultists they would not
make such a demand. We thought they
were looking for parts of the deceased
to tamper with and we took them to
Eleweran for further investigations.”
The Public Relations Officer of the
University of Lagos, Mr. Toyin Adebule,
said he could not confirm the arrest of
the students.
He, however, confirmed that Jacob took
Sniper on the school premises.
He said the police had taken over the
case and a corona inquest had begun.
He said, “This is a corona case and the
school is not involved. It has nothing to
do with the university. What happened
was that he (Jacob) took Sniper and after
taking it, the security was informed. He
was initially talking, but suddenly he
collapsed.
“He was rushed to the school’s health
centre where he was resuscitated.
Around 7pm, he was rushed to LUTH
where he died some hours later. There is
no indictment. I am not aware that some
students of the school have been
arrested.”
Lagos At 50: Group Backs Soyinka’s Appointment
A group operating under the platform of
Coalition of Ibile Professionals on Tuesday
said they are backing the choice of Nobel
Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka as co-
chair of the Lagos at 50 Celebration
committee.
The group in a statement issued by its
general secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Hassan,
said members of Eko Foundation who were
critical of the move were seeking cheap
publicity and attention for relevance.
Hassan stated that Lagos State is made up
of five divisions namely Ikeja, Badagry,
Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe, adding that
all the divisions are relevant for the
progress of the state.
He picked holes in the insinuation that
indigenes had been marginalized because
some Eko Foundation members, who are
exclusively from the Lagos Island division
lost out in the search for appointment.
According to him, the Lagos Island division
enjoyed the seat of power in Lagos for the
last eight years as against other divisions.
He added that the coalition will resist any
campaign of calumny against Governor
Akinwunmi Ambode, who he said has been
successfully balancing the state affairs and
appointments to ”the excitement of all
divisions of the state.”
Hassan vowed that members of the
coalition will not fold their arms and allow
the so-called indigenes with foreign names
to usurp stable and peaceful co-existence
in the state.
”How else can one describe the President
of Eko Foundation, Professor Oluwole
Smith, who failed to qualify on the short
list for Lagos State University (LASU) Vice
Chancellorship in the last selection process
or is it Mrs. Teju Philips or Mr. Lawal
Pedro who have non-indigene antecedents,
and cannot therefore claim to be saintly?”

APC cannot win any election in Rivers State - Governor Wike
According to the press statement released by
Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the
Rivers State Governor, Electronic Media,
Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared
that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is
not in a position to win any election in the
state, adding that the Minister of
Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi is merely
sponsoring violence to remain relevant
politically.
Governor Wike informed that with the
proofs of corruption against Rotimi
Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation
resorted to blackmailing the leadership of
the All Progressives Congress that he would
reveal to the public how much he invested in
the party’s campaign if he was not
confirmed as a minister.
This is even as the Senate Caucus of the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led by
Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio
insisted that the Independent National
Electoral Commission, INEC, must release the
collated results of the March 19, 2016
rerun elections.
Speaking during a solidarity visit by the
PDP Senate Caucus, Governor Wike said
the Minister of Transportation lost his local
government area and Federal Constituency,
hence his desperation to influence the
release of the results.
He said: "Any person who loves Mr
President won't be causing unnecessary
crisis for him. We have problem in the North
East, problem in the South-East, so there is
no need for another problem in the South-
South .
"It is good that the elections were held so
that Nigerians will know the truth about the
polity. If elections are held 20 times, PDP
will win".
The governor decried the role played by
soldiers during the rerun elections. He said
the military were directly involved in the
elections at polling units and at the
collation centres in direct violation of the
Electoral Act.
He regretted the killing of the corps
member, Samuel Okonta during the rerun
elections, but stressed that investigation
into the type of bullet that killed him
must be made public. He confirmed that
the state government will immortalise the
late corps member.
Earlier, Senate Minority Leader and Leader
of Senate PDP Caucus, Senator Godswill
Akpabio said that the victory recorded by the
PDP in Rivers State is: "A clear case of
justice being done by God".
While describing Rivers State as peaceful ,
Senator Godswill Akpabio regretted the
sponsored propaganda by the opposition to
destroy the image of the state. He said
that there is no other political party in the
state outside the PDP.
He called for tolerance in the political
space to allow for the sustenance of the
state's multiparty democracy.
Highpoint of the visit was the donation of
N1million by the Senate to the family of Late
Samuel Okonta through Governor Wike.
Senator Godswill Akpabio prayed that
Okonta's death would be the last during
elections. He also commiserated with the
government and people of the state over the
death of PDP members during the rerun
elections.

JAMB CBT Has Come To Stay, There's No Going Back - FG
The Federal Government has stated that the
JAMB CBT has come to stay and there is no
going back on that.
This was disclosed by the Minister of State for
Education, Professor Anthony Anwuka.
According to him, "The Computer Based Tests
have been institutionalised by JAMB and there
is no going back on this policy. Computer
literacy is now in vogue all over the world and
anybody that decides to deny himself this
competency, has himself to blame".
Concerning the recent protest by some
candidates over the CBT examination policy,
the Minister said: "If a student, who goes out
there and fails the CBT examination, decides to
carry placard against JAMB instead of making
concerted effort to be computer literate, that
is his business".
This Nigerian housewife is fond of always tearing her husband's boxers and raping him!
A retired soldier, Gafaru Rodoye has revealed
how his wife and mother of their five
children, has turned almost all his boxers to
rags while trying to force him to sleep with
her against his will.He revealed all this at the
Igando Customary court in Lagos today.
“My wife always rape me; she had
turned all my boxers to rags to achieve
her selfish aim,” he said.
The petitioner who got married to Idiat 20
years ago further revealed that his wife was in
the habit of threatening his life through
beating and that he was afraid she might kill
him one day.
“I had to run away from my 16-flat
building to rent an apartment
elsewhere just to avoid her frequent
beatings, but she trailed me to my new
apartment to fight me. “I have
reported her severally to different
police stations, but it did not yield any
positive result,” he said.
Gafaru said that his wife poured hot water
on the new wife that was brought for him
from the village by his family. He begged the
court to end their 20-year old marriage,
saying he was no longer in love as his life was
in danger.
“Please, separate us before my wife
kills me, my life is not safe with her, I
am a pensioner, I need to enjoy the
fruit of my labour.” he said.
However, Mrs Idiat Rodoye, 44, business
woman, denied all the allegations, saying her
husband was a womaniser.
“My husband runs after anything in
skirt; he always sends me packing from
the house whenever he wants to bring
in another woman. “He once sent me
out with the children for three years.
“After sending me out, he had married
six different women, but none stayed
long with him. He will always come
back to beg me to pack back,’’ she
said.
The mother of five said she never raped her
husband, that it was normal for husband and
wife to make love. The respondent said that
she did not beat her husband, but it was her
husband that was always beating her. Idiat
said that her husband removed the plasma
television, air conditioner and disconnected
the electricity supply from her flat, leaving
her and the children in darkness.
She urged the court to grant her husband’s
wish that she too was tired of the marriage
and no longer in love. The Court President,
Mr Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case
to April 5 for further hearing.

Rascism: Brazilian Officials Deny Couple The Right To Give New- Born Baby A Yoruba Name. (Photos )
Brazilian officials have refused to let a
couple give their daughter a Yoruba name
because, ‘it makes no sense”in Portuguese
..Cizinho Afreeka and wife Juliana desired
to name their daughter “ Makeda Foluke. ”
This is because they have roots with the
Yoruba culture.
BW of Brazil reports that officials at the
registration office declined stating it could
provide possible future suffering for the
person in social life.”
Despite their explanation, Foluke’s parents
believe that the real reason their
daughter’s chosen name was denied was
because of racism.
The child’s father, Afreeka, said
“It’s a form of racism that
takes place in Brazil: the
racism of subtleties,” “It
should be very natural a man
and a Black woman adopting
an African name, as the
country is made up of three
races. It is difficult to prove.
Only those in this skin knows.”
In response, officials have denied racism
comes into play.Their report reads
“The prosecutor’s office issued
an opinion against the use of
the name because they
considered it likely to cause
future problems for the child,
suggesting a pre-name was
added to the other names…
such as Ana Maria Makeda or
something like this.

Interestingly, the Ohworode, the oldest
educated monarch in Delta state, who turned
99 years in January is so blessed that he still
reads without glasses, walks unaided and
displays the strength of a horse.
The monarch in company of his immediate
family recently caused a stir
when he drove himself in a black Lexus jeep
to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Ogoni-
Olomu for a special thanksgiving service.
Secret of longevity
Acknowledging God as the secret behind his
longevity, the monarch urged all Nigerians,
especially Urhobos to turn to God in solving
her problems stressing that no human effort
can permanently eradicate the problems
plaguing the country.
According to him, “God has been
magnanimous to us as a people, yet we are
crawling and sleeping. Am urging every one of
us to learn how to give our hearts and soul to
God as this is the only way we can succeed in
life.” Speaking on the secret of his longevity,
the monarch said: “God is the secret of my
longevity and that is why at my age, I can still
drive.”
An epitome of God’s gift
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa described the royal
father as an agent of change while presiding
over the activities of his people for the past
28 years as Ohworode of Olomu kingdom.
The governor, who was represented by the
State Commissioner for Water Resources, Sir
Fidelis Tilije a grand reception by the Urhobo
Social Club, Lagos in honour of the monarch
at Olomu, stated that as an epitome of God’s
gift to Nigeria as a nation, all Deltans should
emulate the leadership qualities of the
monarch, adding that as an agent of change,
there are lessons to be learnt from his life
and times.
Radiates excellence
On his part, president of Urhobo Social Club,
Chief Simeon Ohwofa while giving reasons for
the honour bestowed on the monarch, said:
“The Owhorode as a king, radiates excellence
in his leadership for the past 28years on the
throne and this excellence is what the club
stands for, hence we have decided to
celebrate him.”
Vanguard reports that top dignitaries present
at the event include the Olu of Warri, Obi of
Onitsha, Pere of Seimbiri Kingdom,
government officials and Ivie from the
various Urhobo kingdom.

LOL!! An attempt by Kiss Daniel to quickly edit his age on Wikipedia has been exposed.
An attempt by Kiss Daniel to quickly edit his age on
Wikipedia has been exposed. His Wikipedia page
indicates that his age was changed to 21 from 28,
some minutes ago. He had hitherto been deceiving
the public about his true age, a move that backfired
after he granted an extensive interview with Punch.
The interview raised so many questions after it was
insinuated that he gained admission at the tender age
of 13 and graduated at the age of 18. He is however
not consistent with his lies has he totally forgot to
change his age on Wikipedia until few minutes ago,
by which time it was already top late…. to say I’m

A little 15-year-old girl who was sent on suicide mission and was caught by security operatives has pleaded not to be killed as she revealed that she is one of the kidnapped Chibok girls.
A suspected suicide bomber intercepted in northern Cameroon friday before she could blow herself up is claiming to be one of 219 schoolgirls kidnapped by
Boko Haram terrorists in Chibok, Borno State in 2014, military and local government sources in Cameroon
said. Also friday, the military in the ongoing Boko Haram
clearance operation, intercepted two female suicide bomber in a Borno State town; one of them was killed
before she could carry out the act, while the second one blew herself to death.
The two girls arrested in Cameroon friday were carrying explosives and were stopped by local self-defence forces in the village of Limani, in an area of
northern Cameroon that has been the target of frequent suicide bombings in recent months.
They were then handed over to Cameroonian soldiers belonging to a multi-national force set up to take on
Boko Haram.
“One of them indeed declared that she is one of the Chibok hostages. She is around 15. We are now verifying, because on the Nigerian side they have the
names and photos of these girls,” said Cameroonian local government administrator, Raymond Roksdo.
Two military sources, who asked not to be identified as they were not authorised to speak to the press, also confirmed that the girl had claimed to have been
one of the Chibok abductees.
“We need a few days to be able to confirm this information. We have to debrief all the men who were present and interrogate the two girls before we can say anything, ” one of the military sources said.
In a high-profile attack that sparked a global outcry, Boko Haram militants raided the school in April 2014
while the girls were taking exams. They loaded 270 of them onto trucks, though around 50 escaped shortly
afterwards. Former president Goodluck Jonathan was criticised for his slow reaction to the Chibok
abductions. It was nearly a month before a fact-finding committee
travelled to Chibok to establish whether the abduction actually happened and how many girls were missing.
Muhammadu Buhari, who defeated Jonathan in an election last year, ordered a new investigation into the
kidnappings in January.
Joint operations between Nigeria and its neighbours Niger, Chad and Cameroon succeeded in driving Boko
Haram from many of its strongholds in Nigeria last year.
However, as an 8,700-strong regional task force seeks to stamp them out once and for all, the Islamists have stepped up cross-border attacks and
suicide bombings, many of them carried out by young girls.
Military Kills Two Female Suicide Bombers in Borno
The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col.
Sani Usman in a statement yesterday said that the ever alert and vigilant troops of 7 Division Garrison based in Maiduguri, in conjunction with Civilian JTF
averted yet another suicide attack on the innocent citizens in Borno State by intercepting two female suicide bombers.
According to Usman, “the troops intercepted two female suicide bombers at about 1.20am, almost 100
metres south of Umurari Village, on the outskirts of Maiduguri.”
He said “one of the suicide bombers on sighting our troops detonated her explosive device, killing herself
instantly, while the second bomber in an attempt to escape was gunned down by one of the Garrison’s
snipers.” He said that the combined team of the Nigeria Police
and Nigerian Army’s Explosive Ordinance Device team safely detonated the unexploded Improvised
Explosive Devices (IEDs) strapped on the gunned down suicide bomber.
Usman however noted that there was no casualty beyond the two suicide bombers. At present, he said,
the troops and the Civilian JTF deployed in the village are now combing the general area to forestall further
breach of security.
“The situation in the area is calm and law abiding citizens are going about their normal activities without fear, ” he added.
In a related development, Usman said that the troops of newly inducted 3rd Battalion, 22 Brigade, in conjunction with Army Headquarters Strike Group
(AHQ SG) and the Armed Forces Special Forces
(AFSF), carried out a spectacular clearance operation
on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
According to him, the military forces cleared the
remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists hibernating in
Kala Balge general area.
He said: “The triumphant troops apart from killing 22
terrorists cleared pockets of the terrorists in Wumbi,
Tunish, Tilem and Malawaji. Others are Makaudari,
Daima, Buduli, Sadigumo, Jiwe, Sidigeri and Kala
villages. The troops also rescued 309 persons held
captives by the terrorists.
“They also discovered and destroyed the terrorists
training camp, factory, locally made weapons and
warehouse at Tilem and then secured Rann, the
headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area.”
In the same vein, the DAPR said that the troops of 3
Battalion with the support of Civilian JTF also
conducted a fighting patrol at Kusumma Village in
which they killed three Boko Haram terrorists and
captured one alive.
“They also rescued 520 persons held hostage by the
terrorists and recovered a motorcycle, weapons and
axes,” he stated.
The troops, Usman said, basking in the unprecedented
achievement, are also making efforts to clear
remnants of the terrorists in the surrounding areas.

How a teenage Nigerian maid was raped, impregnated and sacked by her Lebanese boss
One 17-year-old Roda Timothy, who left Plateau for Lagos,
last year for better life has been raped and impregnated by
her Lebanese boss who later kicked her out of his house
when all his efforts to abort the pregnancy failed.
Her boss popularly called Hussein, works as a professional
chef for highbrow companies in Lagos and resides on Allen
Avenue, Ikeja agreed to pay Roda N10, 000 monthly. Two
months after impregnating her, Hussein sacked her after
paying her a paltry sum of N19,000 for the two months she
worked for him.
Roda who pleaded passionately that her photograph
should not be taken then narrated how it all happened to
Crime Guard
“I started working with the man as a maid
immediately I came to Lagos. He agreed to pay me
N10,000 monthly as my salary. When I packed into
the house, my boss was not around but he came
back two days later from his work place.
How I was raped
“On this particular day, my boss was about to leave
the house when his brother asked me to go and
meet him and collect some money to purchase food
items for the house. I knocked on his door, he
answered and asked me to come inside. When I
entered, I told him that his brother asked me to
collect money to purchase food items. He said okay
and got up from where he was sitting, and
pretended as if he wanted to get the money before
he grabbed me forcefully. I struggled with him and
was shouting but he over powered me and raped
me.
Second round of rape
“The following month when I discovered that I had
missed my monthly circle, I informed him about it
but instead of finding solution to it, he raped me a
second time. I then kept disturbing him about the
growing pregnancy. What he did was to send me to
a nearby chemist with a prescription but the
attendant refused to attend to me without his
presence. He later went with me and bought some
drugs which he asked me to take to abort the
pregnancy. I took the drugs but nothing happened.
After some days, he bought another set of drugs
which I took, yet, nothing happened.
I then became very worried and was disturbing him
to find a solution to the problem he caused. That
was when he started threatening me and later
sacked me after paying me N19,000.
I was so afraid that when I went back to my brother
who brought me to Lagos, I didn’t tell him that I
was pregnant for my boss. I was just praying that
the pregnancy will just disappear but it did not.
Unknown to my brother that I was pregnant, he got
me another job where I worked for four months as a
maid before my new employer discovered that I was
pregnant and told my brother.”
Her brother speaks
“Roda’s brother, Joshua also narrated his story to Crime
Guard. According to him,
“It was January this year that we discovered she
was pregnant. Her stomach was still flat and we
had to take her for scan. It was then she revealed
that her former boss,Hussein, was responsible for
her pregnancy. So, we went to Hussein’s house to
confront him but he denied being responsible for the
pregnancy. We therefore reported the case to the
Immigration Department in Ikeja and on February 9,
2016, he was arrested but was later released.
From Immigration to NAPTIP
“From immigration department, my sister was taken
to the National Agency For The Prohibition of
Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP. Initially, officials of
NAPTIP said she would be with them until she
delivers but last week, officials of the agency came
and asked me to come and take my sister back as
she will soon deliver. The pressure and threats
from NAPTIP became too much to the extent that I
don’t know whether they are protecting the interest
of my sister who was abused by a foreigner or that
of the foreigner”.
Joshua lamented the atrocities perpetrated by some
expatriates resident in Nigeria, saying “ these atrocities
continue unabated because the government and relevant
authorities ignore the plight of helpless victims who are at
their mercy,”he stated.
When Crime Guard visited the residence of the Lebanese,
Mr Hussein in Ikeja, he was not around but a lady in the
house promised to inform him about our visit and get back
to us.
Promise by Hussein’s nephew
The next morning, one Mr Hassan called claiming to be the
nephew of Mr Hussein Ali. He said his sister informed him
of our visit to his residence the previous day. According to
him, whatever happened between his Hussein and Roda
was a mistake and that they were doing everything within
to resolve the issue while Hussein has agreed to take care
of Roda until she gives birth. He however added that a DNA
will be carried out to determine the paternity of the baby
but the family will not refuse to take responsibility. “We are
doing everything to ensure she delivers safely,” he added.

Don’t get carried away by Shekau’s video’ – Army
The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ), on Thursday, warned Nigerians to be wary of the so called apology video
that showed Boko Haram leader, Ibrahim Shekau, asking for ‘forgiveness’.
The statement, which was signed by Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, the Acting Director Defence Information,
stated that the Nigerian Military will continue to fight to ensure that Nigeria’s territory is protected.
The statement reads: “It has come to the notice of the Defence Headquarters about the online video clips purportedly released by the Boko Haram Terrorists Leader, Abubakar Shekau or his replica in Arabic and Hausa Languages showing remorse and asking for forgiveness.”
“The DHQ wishes to state emphatically that not minding the contents of the video clips, the Armed Forces of Nigeria
would continue to fight in order to consolidate the successes recorded so far and assuring Nigerians that no
inch of the Nigerian territory would be allowed to be bastardized by any force of darkness again.”
“The DHQ is also reassuring the good citizens of our great country that all captives under the coffer of the Boko Haram Terrorists, would regain their freedom with the ongoing
military’s final offensive against the terrorists.” “While the Nigerian Military would not rest until all the
remnants of the terrorist group are completely wiped out of our blessed land, the Chief of Defence Staff, General
Gabriel Olonisakin, wishes to commend all officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces for their sacrifices,
determination and courage to degrade the terrorists and task them to complete the good job they have started soonest in line with our rules of engagement.”
“The said video clips should therefore be discountenanced as it could be another ploy or antics of the terrorists to keep
our innocent citizen off their current security alertness to maximize casualties if attacked. The Nigerian Armed
Forces are now determined more than ever before to end this ugly trend.”
“Members of the public are also advised not to be carried away by the video clips, but to be extra vigilant and be
security conscious at all times during Easter celebration and beyond. Public is also reminded to report any
suspicious strange faces, movement and object to the nearest security agency so as to counter any unholy plans
of the Godless terrorist group.”

"We were not in a relationship" Emma Nyra still insists that Ubi Franklin made up the story of their affair
Sometime last year, Emma Nyra and Ubi
Franklin made headlines after they both told
different stories to different media platforms.
Emma Nyra had explained that she quit Ubi's
music label for some other reasons and not
because he left her for his now wife, Lilian
Esoro..yet Ubi in another interview around
that period claimed they were actually in a
relationship but he broke up with her
because she was manner-less and all.
Well, Punch newspaper recently caught up
with Emma and this chat happened...enjoy!
Some people say with your looks and
talent,you should have surpassed your
current status in the industry.
I have only been doing music for three years.
I was doing music professionally in the USA
before I moved to Nigeria in 2012.
Throughout high school, I participated in
talent shows, and played sports for my
university, which enabled me to sing the
American national anthem at every home
game. In 2009, I opened up a show for P-
Square during their U.S. tour and decided
that I wanted to venture into entertainment
full-time. I released my first single in 2012
and I am happy with what I am doing right
now.
What label are you currently signed on
with?
I have my own label now, Nyra Nation and
Nyra Empire.
Is this a deliberate decision?
I want to handle my own projects, so I can
see and track my own revenue. I can make
my own money and also bring up other
artistes when the time comes.
Didn’t your former label, TripleMG, do all
you mentioned above for you?
Obviously they didn’t.
Didn’t you ask questions, speak out or air
your grievances?
I did air my grievances but they were not
addressed. That was why I left the label.
What are some of the lessons you have
learnt since you parted ways with your
former label?
I learnt to focus and not really trust what I
hear. I have learnt to take everything I am
being told by sight and keep my faith in God
because He is the only one who actually has
my back. Even if I hear something, I don’t
react just like that and I also stay away from
drama. If I sense that a situation might likely
lead to a confrontation, I simply avoid it.
It is believed that when an artiste is in a
relationship with his or her label boss or
label mate it spells doom for his or her
career. Do you agree?
I actually wasn’t in a relationship with Ubi.
He made all that story up. Personally, I don’t
want to speak about it.
What is your relationship with your
former label boss, Ubi Franklin, like? Are
you both cordial?
No, I wouldn’t like to speak about that.

We'll never cover up Corruption- Saraki
Senate President, Bukola Saraki says the
present senate under his leadership will never
cover corruption except if the information
didn't come to them. Saraki said this while
speaking with a team of editors of the London
based "The Economist" newspaper at the
weekend.
"Under my watch, the Senate will never cover
corruption except if the information didn't
come to us"he said
According to a statement by his Special
Assistant on Public Affairs, Mohammed Isa,
Saraki said the Senate is ever ready to partner
with President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure
the success of the anti-corruption war. The
Senate, he said had already demonstrated
such commitment through its interventions
on many alleged corrupt transactions such as
its swift investigation and adoption of a
report on the management of the Treasury
Single Account (TSA) that saved the nation
about N7billion and the exposure of the
inconsistencies in the 2016 budget.
The step, he said was a departure from the
past where such reports were either watered-
down or not presented for debate and
adoption. He cited the report he presented to
the last Senate on the over N1trillion fuel
subsidy scam that never saw the light of the
day.
In furtherance to the commitment, the Senate
President said Nigerians would in the next few
weeks be availed with the details of the
National Assembly budget which will be a
departure from the tradition of having one
line item budget.
"For the first time we promised Nigerians to
give out our budget breakdown. The
committee will make its report available by
next week. We are resolved to break the
tradition of one line item," he said.
Saraki said though party differences exist
between the senators, citing example of the
leadership tussle, he, however said, national
interest and the desire of each senator to
fulfil the promises made to Nigerians have
become the guiding principle of the senate in
their team work.
On the economy, he said the Senate has
embarked on series of legislative
interventions to create conducive
environment for the private sector, as he
said, "it is only when the private sector
thrives that the issue of unemployment will
be addressed and the nation's GDP will
increase."
"Few days ago, we received a report on the
laws that need to be amended in order of
priority importance to ease doing business
and overall private sector participation in the
stimulation of Nigeria's economy. We will
soon commence the implementation of the
recommendations in the report in addition to
pushing for the amendment of the
Procurement Act to stimulate and protect our
local industries," he assured.
He blamed lack of firmness and consistency
in policy implementation by the past
administrations as the main obstacle for the
growth of the private sector.
"If people have confidence that these policies
have come to stay, nothing will stop them
from coming to invest in the country," he
stressed.
He allayed the fears that the low prices of oil
will have negative impact on the
implementation of the 2016 budget, saying
that, "what we need to do is to block leakages
and show more transparency."
"If we can block leakages, stop the wastages
and institute a culture of transparency in
governance, the revenue in-flow will not be substantially affected. Without these, even if
oil is sold at more than a $100 per barrel, we
will continue to witness a decline in revenue
in-flow as we witnessed in the past," Saraki
said.

Diamond Platnumz Breaks Down In Tears After Daughter ’s DNA Result
Diamond Platnumz was recently in paternity
mess when the news broke that his
babymama, Zari was once married to Ivan
Ssemwanga whose cousin, Lawrence King
demanded DNA test on his new born, Latifah.
Diamond Platnumz welcomed Latifah on
August 6, 2015 with his baby mama, Zari
Hassan. As a result of pressure from the
fans and critics who felt the child was not
Diamond’s, he had to bow to the pressures,
he decided to go for the test which was
conducted on both parents and the child.
In a recent interview with Citizen TV, the
singer said he was tearfully happy when the
DNA test proved he was the real father of the
child.
“People talked a lot, created a
lot of lies. I was not worried
nonetheless. All through, I knew
the baby is mine; though just to
make myself happier and more
peaceful, I decided to conduct a
DNA test on Tifah. Tifah is my
daughter, completely! I am
extremely overjoyed by the
results (DNA). That’s why I am
now freer, happier and having a
good time. When you happen to
visit my office, you will notice I
have hung framed photos of
Tifah everywhere. I am not
worried at all. I can now
courageously face my critics.”

Federal Government explains why Nigeria has been witnessing power blackout in the past few weeks
The Federal Government on Friday apologised
to Nigerians for the poor power situation the country has been witnessing in the past few weeks.
In a statement signed by the Minister of
Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai
Mohammed, the situation was blamed on gas shortage, vandalism and sabotage.
He also said all efforts were being made to rectify the situation and ensure a gradual improvement in the power situation.
The minister said the routine maintenance by
the Nigeria Gas Company had affected the
supply of gas to power stations, forcing down
power supply from an all-time high of 5,074
MW to about 4,000MW.
He added that a combination of unsavoury
incidents further crashed the power supply to
about half that figure.
Mohammed said, “There will be a decent
improvement in the power situation from this
weekend, thanks to on-going remedial efforts
that will double the current power supply to
4,000WM. Getting back to the 5,074MW all-
time high that was reached earlier will take a
few more weeks.

competency test, apparently colluded with the
National Transmission Station in Osogbo to
shut down transmission.
‘’Finally, the unfortunate strike by the unions
at the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation over the restructuring of the
corporation, shut down the Itarogun Power
Station, the biggest in the country.
“Due to these factors, only 13 of the 24 power
stations in the country are currently
functioning. It is this same kind of unsavoury
situation that has affected fuel supply and
subjected Nigerians to untold hardship.”
The minister condemned the situation in which some Nigerians, under the guise of the various unions in the oil and gas sector, would continuously sabotage the country’s power infrastructure.
He said, ‘’The bitter truth is that for as long as
these groups of Nigerians continue to sabotage
the power infrastructure, Nigerians cannot
enjoy a decent level of power supply.
“We therefore admonish all Nigerians who may
be agitating for their rights in whatever form
to refrain from any action that will further
hurt the same people they claim to be
protecting.”
