How To Inspire Manners In Your Children

1. When entering the house greet your children with hugs and kisses. This should help develop their sense of love and care.

2. Be good to your neighbours and never backbite. Never speak ill of other drivers when on the road. Your children listen, absorb and emulate.

3. When calling your parents, encourage your children to speak to them. When visiting your parents take your children with you. The more they see you take care & respect your parents, the more they will learn to take care of you.

4. When out driving with them, don't just slot in your cds or listen to the radio but also interact, making the ride both fun and impactful.

5. Read them a short story and even a scripture a day – it doesn't take much time, but can help create strong family bonds, the habit of studying the word daily and ultimately, creation of wonderful memories.

6. Comb your hair, clean your teeth and wear presentable cloths even if sitting at home and not going out for the day. They need to learn that being clean and tidy has nothing to do with going out!...so true.

7. Try not to blame or comment on every word or action they say or do. Learn to overlook and let go sometimes. This certainly builds their self-confidence and problem solving abilities.

8. Ask your children's permission before entering their rooms. Don't just knock and enter, always wait for a verbal permission. They will learn to do the same when wanting to enter your room.

9. Apologize to your children if you made a mistake. Apologizing teaches them that no one is above mistakes and also the importance of being humble and polite.

10. Don't be sarcastic or make fun of their views or feelings, even if you "didn't mean it" and was "only joking". It really hurts.

11. Respect your children's privacy. Its important for their sense of value and self-esteem.

12. Don't expect that they will listen or understand sometimes. Try not to take it personal. But be patient and consistent.

13.Pray with them. Show them how to pray. Lead by example. Always the most effective method of teaching them.

A native of Ndi-Ogbuonyeoma in Arondizuogu, Okigwe LGA, Imo State. He is popularly known as Pericoma.... who in one of his famous act of jazz stopped illegal tax collectors aka agbero boys at Upper-Iweka Onitsha, a singular act that installed fear in the heart of all agberos operating at Upper Iweka.

He passed away Today Thursday morning 16th February, 2017 in a hospital in Okigwe, after a brief illness. He is survived by wives, children and many grandchildren. The Igbo Nation has Lost a Legend, Rest In Peace Pericoma..I na anyi ajooor aru!

Talking about something that is happening that I don’t like, that pains my heart whenever i see it,
it concerns our religion, it affects the way we do media evangelism, sometimes I see it as ignorance, sometimes I see it as mockery, sometimes as a sin, and sometimes as scam.
Am talking about:

1. People posting the picture of Jesus Christ with text like this;
“Ignore if u hate God or type amen if u like God..” 
“Type Amen and see what God will do for you”

2. People posting the picture of Jesus Christ and Satan together with text like this;
“Type Amen if you love God or Ignore it if you love Satan”

3. Facebook Posts Threatening 7 Years of Bad Luck For Not Typing Amen or Liking
How can you be judging people that way, making them to feel guilt.
I have come to realize that most people type Amen or like out of their own will, they are only afraid of God, so their actions are out of fear of not annoying God.

EFFECTECTS.

A. IT’S TURNING PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
We shouldn’t judge the message of the Gospel by its good factor, we certainly don’t need to add negative stuff to our message in order to make it harder to follow Jesus.  The path is narrow enough as it is... lol.

B. IT’S SPIRITUALLY MANIPULATIVE
These kinds of posts build up the mother of all false contradictions.  “You can share it and be a Good Christian, or if you can keep scrolling and side with the Devil.” There is no room for any other alternative.
Whenever we try to influence someone’s behaviour through spiritual guilt we are manipulating them.  Jesus never uses guilt.  Whether you type amen or chose to move on to the next post will have no bearing whatsoever in the way God sees you.

C. SCAMMERS
Beware of deceitful Facebook users who are posting pictures of sick, starving, dead and injured children, adults or animals on Facebook, to trick other Facebook users into commenting on them by typing "Amen," in order to make them popular. This type of activity is another Like-Farming scam, and the photos in them are being used without the owners' consent. The heartless and deceitful people who are tricking Facebook users into typing "Amen" are only taking advantage of caring Facebook users, who think they are helping out, by playing with their consciences. The scam may also ask Facebook users to compliment a child, an adult or an animal, or type "Amen" to be grateful for something.
Scammers use the posts to gather up potential victims. Once they have enough Facebook users, they will start sending them spam (unsolicited messages) with links that will take potential victims to phishing websites that will steal their information, or malicious links that will take them to dangerous websites that will infect their computers with Spyware or Trojan horse

D. A.    MANIPULATED MANIPULATOR

When you share a post like this you are allowing yourself to be manipulated in order to manipulate others.

So who are you to bring enmity between Man and God?
Christianity and human faith is not what we toy with.
Sometimes I ask myself if I see these things in other religions too..

Reigners Bible Church collapse in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Nigerians are now in mourn as a result of a collapsed church on Saturday between 11-12am, it was recorded that close to 200 worshipers died as the Reigners Bible Church in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria collapsed.
The church was said to be filled to its full capacity as the consecration of its Pastor (Church Founder), Apostle Akan Weeks as a Bishop was going on when the incident happened.

Governor Udom Emmanuel with a large entourage comprising his deputy, some commissioners and many senior officials of the state government.
The governor escaped death but some of his aides were not so fortunate.

We pray for a special grace for the families that lost loved ones to bear their loss as the investigation on the course of the Church collapse is ongoing.

Shameless 75-yr-old man caught defiling 4-yr-old girl inside a bush (photos)

It was a show of shame after members of a community stumbled upon a 75-year-old man defiling a four-year-oldgirl inside a bush in the area.
According to a Facebook user who posted the sordid act on his wall, Sly Idoko, the incident sent shock waves through the area after the man who is a grandfather was caught raping the girl after he had lured her into the bush.

It was gathered that the parents of the girl noticed that she was not outside their house playing with her mates and they raised an alarm, prompting some youths in the area to go in search of the child.

Such was their shock when they caught the elderly man naked on top of the girl. He was said to have been beaten up severely just as others were busy taking photos of the shameless man.

Mum-of-3 cries for justice after her estranged husband, a Zenith Bank Staff, damaged her leg

When love goes soar, it obviously turns brutal and that's the case of this Nigerian mother of three, Ivie Edobor is crying for justice after being allegedly brutally assaulted by her estranged husband, John Edobor, a Zenith Bank employee.
When she started divorce proceedings against him after the break down of their marriage, he allegedly battered her legs with iron rods and shattered the bones so badly that she has to have titanium plates and screws inserted in her body to keep her leg in place, and as of now she still hasn't regained the use of her right leg, while he still walks about freely.

Her story reads: "Dear friend,

To shed more light on my ordeal, this is my story.

Two years ago my husband kick me out of his house along with my 3 daughters ages 9, 7 and 4. I was forced to move back to my father’s house and struggled to provide for my 3 children as he completely neglected them and even took them off his medical insurance provided by his office, Zenith Bank Plc.

After much struggle, I finally got back on my feet. Got a great job, enrolled my kids in a new school and rented an apartment for my 3 kids and I.

About Easter time this year he decided he wants to be part of my children’s life again. I allowed him access to the children as I felt we could be civil to each other for the sake of our children. At this time, I had started putting my documentation together for the divorce process. Early hours of June 19th, on my way back from a function, a friend had parked right in front of the gate of my apartment to press the bell for the gateman to open the gate and let me into the compound when suddenly he was rushed at and attacked by a man waving an object.

The first impression was that it was an armed robber trying to rob us. My friend, (a man) pushed him away but he came charging back. At this point, I looked out the opened door and realized it was John Edobor my enstrange husband. Before we could react a group of area boys showed up but rather than saving us from the assailant, they joined him.

The proceeded to be my friend on the floor giving John the opportunity to focus his attack on me. He used a metal bar(wheel spanner/ metal rod) to try hitting me on the head through the opened drivers door but I shielded it. Not satisfied with that, he turned to the passengers door dragged out to the floor. I landed on the floor with my legs extended where he proceeded to hit me on the leg continuously with the metal.
When he was satisfied he was about going back to join the area boys who had gathered my friend when my neighbour who had heard my screams for help and seen from his window a man striking someone on the floor thinking it was an armed robber, numbed down his balcony with a machete to save whoever was being attacked.

On getting down he was faced with my enstrange husband whom he had prevented from entering my compound without my permission on 2 occasions so he recognised him. It was at that point he overpowered John. The area boys recognised him as a member of the security team for the street and backed off my friend.

By that time I couldn’t stand up and my leg was bleeding profusely. I was rushed to the hospital where my jeans was torn off my leg to see the nature of my injury. The injury was so severe that my broken bone torn through my skin puncturing an artery in the process.

Almost 3months and 2 surgeries later, I have titanium plates and screws to keep my leg in place and I am unable to use my right leg. I still have my 3 children to care for and my life is at a stand still. The perpetuator was charged to court and released on bail 3 days later. Now he moves around freely carrying on with his life. Now is it wrong for me to cry for Justice.

The Imo State University Online Registration for the Screening of prospective candidates for Admission into ALL COURSES/PROGRAMMES for the 2016/2017 Academic Year will commence from 5th August and end on 26th August, 2016.
1. ELIGIBILITY Candidates who chose Imo State University as their first choice in the 2016/2017 UTME/DIRECT ENTRY Application and scored 180 and above are eligible for the screening. In addition, candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes in the relevant O’level subjects including English Language and Mathematics. Please visit the University website www.imsu.edu.ng for more information on the relevant subject combinations.
2. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
(a) Visit the University website: www.imsu.edu.ng.
(b) Click on prospective students.
(c) Click on “click to Apply” under 2016/2017 Academic Screening Application.
(d) Enter your JAMB Registration Number.
(e) Click on submit button to generate payment invoice.

Siasia announces Olympics 18-man squad (FULL LIST) Azeez Adeniyi

Samson Siasia, Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-23 team, has named his 18-man squad that will fly the country’s flag in football at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The two over-aged players in Siasia’s squad, are Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi, who will be leading the team and South Africa-based goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi.

Liverpool’s Taiwo Awoniyi, surprisingly did not make the main team but joined other alternate players.

The player, along with Sunshine Stars winger, Stanley Dimgba and Kano Pillars goalkeeper, Yusuf Mohammed, have been named as alternate players.
