My Beef with Comedienne Princess – Lolo 1

Media personality and comedienne, Omotunde
David, popularly known as Lolo 1 of Wazobia FM , speaks about her failed marriage and recent spat with colleague, Princess in a new interview
with Punch Spice.

Excerpts:

You recently called out your fellow comedian, Princess, on Twitter. What were you particularly unhappy about?
Sometimes, women have issues. At an event which held this month, she caused me to feel awkward. I felt slighted because her action was
unnecessary. I had to give vent to my anger because I am
human. Some of our colleagues waded into the
matter and I believe that our differences will be sorted out. We’re human beings and we are bound to hurt each other at some point. But, we have to let it go and keep the ball
rolling. Have you ever committed a fashion blunder?
I once missed the memo to an event, so I arrived at the venue looking overdressed. For an informal event, I was decked in a super show-
stopping dress. I felt uncomfortable and I have since learnt to always consider the nature of an event before I come up with a choice of attire.

Senior Director of FIRS Caught Red-Handed in N25m Fraud

The EFCC has arrested Abumere Joseph Osagie, who is the deputy director, regional tax office, of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), in a case of flagrant abuse of office and bribery. The suspect was picked up following a complaint about his attempt to extort a University proprietor of N5m. Mr Osagie and a lady, Jamila Ojora had on January 27, 2016 allegedly approached Senator Ahmed Datti, the Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja and gave him a tax assessment of N20,029, 496.00 through a letter of intent, which he paid.
However when he requested for the assessment certificate, they refused to oblige him. Instead they demanded for for N5million gratification.
All pleas by him fell on deaf ears. Consequently, he petitioned the EFCC, and the EFCC advised to play along To ensure they were caught in the act, marked N5million was delivered to the director through Jamila Ojora in a sting operation. Ojora was arrested after she collected the N5m. Confession led to the arrest of Osagie. The houses of the suspects were searched by operatives of the EFCC, and documents recovered.
EFCC said investigation into the matter would be concluded and both of them charged to court.

I Made a Mistake To Have Attacked Wizkid , – Skales Says

Nigerian singer, Raoul John Njeng better known as Skales, has admitted that trading words with fellow singer, Wizkid, was one of the greatest mistakes he will ever make. The singer made this known on Multi TV’s ‘ Let’s Talk Entertainment programme, as he explains
that he now sees him growing in the eye of many considering the fact some other people look up to him as a role model. “That’s one of the mistakes I made and I feel like I’m growing in the eyes of the public so definitely, I know that you can never benefit from things like that. So I’ve
become a better person now, I’m
more grown now, I’ve realized that
I’m a role model, a lot of people
look up to me and so there’s some
mistakes I cannot do,” Skales Said. Meanwhile, with the ongoing allegations of song theft in the country, Skales, noted that he is so certain that nobody can steal his intellectual property and if anyone does, he will not spare the fellow.
Warning about lyrics theft, he said, “if you steal my lyrics, I’m coming for you.”

Shocker!!!!! How four friends raped a 14-year- old girl in Lagos

Femi Olatunji, 17; Oyekanmi Rasheed, 18; Oladele Habib, 18 and John Alade, 16, have been arrested and are being detained in Lagos, for allegedly conniving to rape a 14- year-old female friend of theirs. The victim couldn’t talk about her ordeal for a while as she said the friends threatened to kill her if she told anybody about the incident.
The young girl narrated that the incident took place when she went to fix her dress with Femi who is a tailor.
“Femi had once told me he would want to marry me and I told him I wasn’t interested. That particular day, I had gone to his shop to give him a dress to fix for me. He said Brother Abidoye (I used to run errands for him) was calling me. I got to Brother Abidoye’s room and I didn’t see him.”
“At that point, Femi and his friends entered the room, switched off the light and they
raped me. I tried shouting and calling for help but because they had tied my mouth, I couldn’t shout very well. When they finished, my private part was paining me. I had to tell my mother what
happened. That was when she alerted the police and the boys were arrested.”
In their defense, the suspects claimed it wasn’t rape, but a consensual act that was paid for.
“She is just lying against me. We have been dating since last year. She is more than 14
years old. She came to my shop that day and I suggested to her that we should enter the
room. She said I should give her money. I asked her how much she wanted and she said
N1,000. I gave her and we went inside and we had sex.”
“My friends were outside. We couldn’t have held her hand. A lot of people were even
outside. If we had forced her, people would have seen us. Her dad even met me and
asked if I would accept her as my wife if she gets pregnant and I said I would because she
is my girlfriend. Her dad said I should go because I didn’t have a problem. I have been
sleeping with her since because she is my girlfriend.”
The second suspect, Oyekanmi also stuck to Femi’s alibi.
“We were at Femi’s place and she and Femi entered the room. Later on, I entered the room because I wanted to charge my phone. I didn’t see Femi there but I saw the girl naked. She wasn’t crying. So I told her I wanted to have sex with her and she said I should go ahead.”
The third suspect, Oludele followed suit.
“She was very comfortable with what we did. When I got to the room, I told her she should allow me to take my own turn and she readily agreed. Nobody held her. People have been sleeping with her. This wasn’t the first time. We all know her in our area. She readily gives to anybody who asks for it.”

‘Supreme Court did not sack me’ – Stella Oduah

Anambra Senator, Stella Oduah, has denied reports that the Supreme Court sacked her from her position at the National Assembly.
It was reported on Friday, that the Supreme Court had sacked two Senators from Anambra State, Oduah and Andy Uba. However, in an interview with Channels Television, Oduah denied the Supreme Court ‘in all its entirety’ while describing the reports as ‘false’. “I have gone through the court judgment and
the judge clearly did not give any judgement to that effect.
“Indeed, what the judgment and the case is all about is state exco and as we all know, state exco do not do election, neither do they submit list.
“So the issue of emergence of candidate, and the issue of candidates that won election was not the issue of this particular case,” she said.
Oduah also added that there is a another
case for which the Supreme Court has given a similar judgment but they were not related.
“The Judge was very clear on its judgment and it clearly says its not about who emerges or the election but about the legality of the excos,” she said.
Oduah said that she was initially baffled when the news of her supposed sacking reached her.
“I was shocked because I knew we went through the right process and its only
national executive that submits list to INEC.
So the judgment was not against us the candidates of PDP.” Meanwhile, Cynthia Ferdinand, the Press Secretary to Senator Oduah, released a statement on Friday, stressing that: “The
Supreme Court did not order the withdrawal of the Certificates of Return issued by the Commission to our clients. They did not hold that the faction of the PDP had the right to sponsor candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
“They did not equally authorize the Commission to substitute our clients with the individuals whose names were on the list improperly allowed by the Commission in obvious disregard of the series of judgments of the Supreme Court of Nigeria to the effect that it is only the National Executive of the party that has the vires to sponsor candidates.”

Alleged arms fraud involvement: ‘I shall pursue this injustice to a logical end’ – Obanikoro

Former minister of state for Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro, has challenged the recent news report that his sons, Babajide and Gbolahan Obainikoro, are involved in the infamous Dasukigate scandal. Obanikoro, who is currently in the United
States where he is said to be schooling, spoke through his Media Aide, Jonathan Eze, who asked online news platform, Sahara Reporters, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to honestly publish names of the signatories to the Silva McNamara Limited account or stop deceiving the public with deceitful information.
The former Minister said he’s shocked by the political witch-hunting on the pages of
newspapers. He also reminded the agencies involved that the court is meant for adjudication of cases and not for stirring public sentiments.
Alleging that Sahara Reporters had a personal vendetta against him, owing to the suit he filed against the news agency for defamation, Obanikoro said that was the reason why the online news platform was demonizing him through the propagation of falsehood.
He also urged the EFCC to be fair in its actions and avoid speculations that might
infringe on his sons’ rights.
“Associating my sons to the Sylva McNamara account that allegedly received funds from the office of the embattled National security Adviser is highly preposterous and unthinkable.”
“I am particularly amazed by the fact that trials and investigations are being done using the media unconventionally just to satisfy the cravings of political entities who are desperate to rub my hard earned reputation in the mud.”
“Since the invisible Sahara Reporters whom I have legal cases against are at the forefront of misleading the public and defaming my person, perhaps rationalizing that I would withdraw pending suits against it, I am using
this medium to challenge it and the EFCC to publish in good conscience the signatories and the names of the directors of the said company and to restate that I shall conclusively pursue this injustice and infringements to a logical end.”

Oritsefemi and Ex - Girlfriend Shade Themselves on Instagram

While fans of singer Oritse Femi, were busy in one form of activities recently, some seems to have missed the drama that played out between the singer and his ex-girlfriend, Blessing Rawa.
It all began when Oritse Femi shared a picture of himself reading the book on ‘The Rise of ISIS’ and then warned fans to be careful of the kind
of people they call friends. In his word, “Life is kind of like a party. You invite a lot of people, some leave early; some stay all night, some laugh with you, some laugh
at you, and some show up late. But in the end, after the fun, there are a few who stay to help you clean up the mess. And most of the time they aren’t even the ones who made the mess.
These people are your real friends. They are the ones who matter. But one can never imagine that he was directing at anyone especially his ex until Blessing
immediately made a mockery of the singer’s write-up by stating that “The look you give a fake friend that just talked about how “Having Real
Friends is what matter.” Probably Oritse Femi’s attention was called to it
and the fun diss began as the singer continued with “you don’t lose friends because real friends can never be lost. You lose people masquerading
as friends.”
Blessing will rather keep quiet being the woman
she is as she replied with “and I hope your greed and abuse, etc won’t send the real ones
away.”

Drake Apologized To Me Personally , So Falz Should Do Same – Vic O

I personally was waiting on the Falz diss track
Vic O promised his fans which he slated for January 7th.
Apparently,I was disappointed when the controversial rapper wasn’t able to fulfill his end.
Recall some weeks back, Vic O ,had a falling out with fellow rap artiste, Falz and according to him, he was pissed when Falz mentioned his diss
track for Drake and Meek Mill as the second most controversial story for the year 2015.
A really pained and disappointed Vic O went
ranting on twitter threatening to destroy his career with a diss track I stated in the beginning of this article. Don’t wait for it, He failed to
deliver.
Two days ago, Vic O, was interviewed on Wazobia TV’s ‘Talk Talk’ where he revealed that Falz, threatened him when they met at Olamide’s concert.
He added that the later categorically promised to
deal with him as well.
Vic O, further said that Falz could not look him in the face while at the concert. He promised to still release the diss track if Falz does not come and apologize to him personally.

Biafra: Court denies Kanu, others bail

Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High
Court in Abuja has declined to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra,
IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu on bail pending his trial.
In a ruling today, the court also denied bail to two other pro-Biafra agitators, Benjamin Madubugwu
and David Nwawuisi, who are facing trial with Kanu.
Justice Tsoho maintained that the charge against the defendants "is a grave one that will attract severe punishment upon conviction".
The court noted that the offence that was allegedly committed by the defendants, which borders on
treasonable felony, attracts life imprisonment.

Nigerians React After The Economist Tagged GEJ As "An Ineffectual Buffoon"

The Economist, an English-language weekly
newspaper owned by the Economist Group, has
described Nigeria’s former president Goodluck
Jonathan as “an ineffectual buffoon”.
In an article titled “Nigeria’s economy Crude
tactics”, the newspaper said:
Buhari’s government has cracked down on
corruption, which had flourished under the
previous president, Goodluck Jonathan, an
ineffectual buffoon who let politicians and their
cronies fill their pockets with impunity.”
Below is the full article. Meanwhile, Nigerians
have taken to Twitter to show their disapproval
of that statement.
“MORE than 30 years ago, a young general swept
to power in the fifth of Nigeria’s military coups
since independence in 1960.
The country he inherited was a mess: bled dry
by pilfering politicians within and hammered by
falling oil prices without. Last year that general,
Muhammadu Buhari, became president again—
this time in a democratic vote. The problems he
has inherited are almost identical. So are many
of his responses.
In the eight months since Mr Buhari arrived at
Aso Rock, the presidential digs, the homicidal
jihadists of Boko Haram have been pushed back
into the bush along Nigeria’s borders. The
government has cracked down on corruption,
which had flourished under the previous
president, Goodluck Jonathan, an ineffectual
buffoon who let politicians and their cronies fill
their pockets with impunity.
Lai Mohammed, a minister, reckons that just 55
people stole $6.8 billion from the public purse
over seven recent years.
Mr Buhari, who—unusually among Nigeria’s
political grandees—is said to have just $150,000
and a couple of hundred cattle to his name,
abhors such excess.
As military ruler he jailed, fired or forced into
retirement thousands of bureaucrats whose
fingers had been in the till. This time, the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC) has arrested dozens of bigwigs, including
a former national security chief accused of
diverting $2.2 billion.
The EFCC has a poor record of securing
convictions; but a single treasury account has
been introduced to try to stop civil servants
siphoning off cash. And agencies which may not
be remitting their fair share to the state are
having their books trawled by Kemi Adeosun, the
finance minister.
Such measures are doubly important because
the economy is swooning along with the oil
price. The sticky stuff directly accounts for only
10% of GDP, but for 70% of government revenue
and almost all of Nigeria’s foreign earnings.

2 face Idibia Finally Responds to Blackface song theft allegations against him

Recall few days ago, Blackface came for singer
2face Idibia accusing the singer of intellectual
theft few days after slugging it out with Wizkid.
In a chat with Channel TV’s, 2face reacted to
Blackface allegations. He said:
‘My brother it’s just so unfortunate.
I don’t know where it is coming
from. I’m trying to think of
different reasons. I thought maybe
his account was hacked or
something. Apparently it wasn’t
hacked, so we’ll trash the whole

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa
Metuh, has regained his freedom. Metuh
is facing trial over alleged N400 million fraud.

Limited, were charged before the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court over alleged N400 million fraud.

"I won't kill the Naira" Buhari

Press statement from the Presidency
President Muhammadu Buhari declared late Wednesday in Nairobi that he was yet to be convinced that Nigeria and its people will
derive any tangible benefit from an official devaluation of the Naira. Speaking at an
interactive meeting with Nigerians living in Kenya, President Buhari maintained that while export-driven economies could benefit
from devaluation of their currencies, devaluation will only result infurther inflation
and hardship for the poor and middle classes in Nigeria's import-dependent economy.
The President added that he had no intention of bringing further hardship on the country's poor who, he said, have suffered enough already.
Likening devaluing the Naira to having it "killed", President
Buhari said that proponents of devaluation will have to work much harder to convince him that ordinary Nigerians will gain anything from it.
The President also rejected suggestions that the Central Bank of Nigeria should resume the sale of foreign exchange to Bureaux
de Change (BDCs), saying that the Bureau de Change business had become a scam and a drain on the economy.
"We had just 74 of the bureaux in 2005, now they have grown to
about 2,800," President Buhari noted.
He alleged that some bank and government officials used
surrogates to run the BDCs and prosper at public expense by obtaining foreign exchange from government at official rates and selling it at much higher rates. "We will use our foreign exchange for industry, spare parts and the development of needed infrastructure. "We don't have the Dollars to give to the BDCs. Let them go and get it from wherever they can, other than the Central Bank,"
President Buhari told the gathering.
The President reaffirmed his conviction that about a third of
petroleum subsidy payments under the previous administration was bogus.
"They just stamped papers and collected our foreign exchange,"he said.
The President appealed to Nigerians studying abroad to bear with his administration as it strives to address the challenges they are
facing as a result of new foreign exchange measures.
He said that he was optimistic that the Nigerian economy will
stabilize soon with the efficient implementation of measures and policies that have been introduced by his administration.

Woman strips son naked and drags him to school for stealing her N5k

I'm sorry, I would never support stripping and
humiliating a child in this manner. I think stealing
from his mum was absolutely horrid but there are
other ways to punish a child other than stripping him naked. Plus he's 9. Many of us stole from our parents when we were that age or a little older. Our brains don't function properly at that age...meaning we don't know better! Mum shouldn't have done that!

The equipment Buhari is using to fight Boko Haram are the ones my administration bought- GEJ

In an interview with International news channel,
France24, Former President Goodluck Jonathan, said
that the current administration is still using the
equipment his administration bought while he was
in government.
“The new government is working hard and I
believe they are still using the equipment we
procured. The budget is still being debated,
no new equipment has been bought, so even
those equipment the president is using to
prosecute the war against Boko Haram are
those equipment we procured and I believe
that with what we left behind and the new
ones they will acquire, this issue of Boko
Haram will be taken to a logical conclusion.
When Boko Haram started in Nigeria, we
had no terror experience. Yes we had armed
robbery and other common crimes, but
terrorism was different because the people
involved were not afraid to die. So, you need
a different mechanism to confront terrorism,
you need superior technology, so that you
will be able to stop them even before the
attack. We never had the equipment, but
when we were confronted, we started
acquiring and before I left office we built
reasonable capacity and I believe with what
we left behind and also with what the new
government will acquire, they will be able to
prosecute this terror war to a reasonable
conclusion” he said
When asked to speak on the ongoing $2.1 billion
arms deal scandal, Jonathan said
"This issue always comes up but I always
insist that the matters are being investigated
and they are in our own courts and in Nigeria
where our issues are before the courts, you
don't make comments on it. It is considered
prejudice. But one thing you will also realize
is that for us to have conducted elections
across the country, all parts of the country,
that means that we prosecuted the war
against Boko Haram to a reasonable level.
Otherwise, we couldn't have been in position
to conduct elections across the country and
we couldn't have fought Boko Haram with
bare hands. This issues of corruption, issues
of misuse of funds, being investigated before
the courts and I wouldn't want to
compromise the position of our laws because
while I served as the President of Nigeria, I
made sure that the judiciary had their own
independence. I made sure that there is

things that will be detrimental to the judicial

Former Chief of Air Staff, AVM Amosu arrested by EFCC

Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Adesola Amosu, has been arrested by the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Amosu is being detained by the EFCC over allegations of massive fraud in the
procurement of arms during his tenure.
According to Sahara Reporters, Amosu is being investigated for authorizing the purchase of two helicopters without
functional rotors, among other allegations.
EFCC investigators have reportedly traced nine luxury homes to Amosu, one of which is in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of
Ikeja in Lagos State, which is estimated to be

Food for thought...

A sick person in a hospital bed was visited by relatives. The patient was on an oxygen MACHINE and therefore couldn't speak.
As they stood beside the bed, the patient took a pen and piece of paper and wrote a note which he gave to one of the relatives who put it in the shirt pocket and continued their conversation.
After a few minutes, the patient died. The relative picked the note from the pocket to know what he had written. And guess what! Sadly the note read..
."please move, you have stepped on the oxygen pipe, i can't breathe, you are killing me".

Ritualists at it again; Human body as foundation

There is outrage in Enugu State following the discovery, Monday evening, shocking images of dead bodies buried in shallow graves along the Enugu Port-Harcourt Express Road.

The incident, which occurred at the Ugwuaji Area of the State has kept residents in tears.
The corpses were buried inside the foundation of the building suspected to be a church under construction and totally covered with concrete.

It was gathered that construction of the building whose owner could not be immediately ascertained, commenced recently and was at the foundation level before the gory discovery Monday.

Unconfirmed sources said one of the workers at the site, who heard about the burial of the deceased inside the foundation before it was concretized, alerted security operatives about the evil act.
Policemen were said to have after receiving the tip-off mobilized some labourers who dug the foundation open and discovered the corpses.

The discovery attracted several passersby and motorists plying the road to the scene.
They expressed shock at the discovery and called on security agents to do everything possible to fish out the perpetrators of the act, who they suspected could be ritualists.

Some residents of the neighbourhood alleged that the building believed to be a proposed place of worship, belonged to a ritualist who disguised to be a man of God.

The State Police spokesman, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the report said the corpses were recovered from the site following a tip-off.

“On information, three decomposing bodies were discovered and full scale investigations have commenced with a view to unmasking circumstances surrounding the incident,” he said.

Meanwhile, fear has gripped residents of Ugwuaji as security operatives were said to have swung into action to crackdown on the ritualist and his cohorts who killed and buried the deceased persons.

One of those who were at the scene described the act as “wicked and the most inhuman action I have seen in my entire life.”

“I was traveling when I saw the crowd there and had to stop. This is wickedness of the highest order. Accusing fingers are being pointed at a particular new church along that road; I don’t know who did this; but I must say that the wicked will never go unpunished.

“People no longer value human lives; for whatever purpose this was done, it is heart breaking”, he lamented.

Arms scam: Metuh got N400m through e-payment, witness tells court

Trial of the embattled
National Publicity Secretary of the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh continued Tuesday, with a senior official from the Office of the National Security
Adviser, ONSA, disclosing how N400million was electronically
wired into the company account of
the defendant. The witness, Mr. Baleh Ndam who testified before trial Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in
Abuja said that it was the erstwhile
National Security Adviser, NSA, Col.
Sambo Dasuki, rtd, that authorized
the transfer of the fund into the
bank account of Destra Investment
Limited, a firm owned by Metuh.
Ndam is the third witness the
Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission, EFCC, has brought to
testify against the PDP spokesman,
who alongside his firm, is
answering to a seven-count
criminal charge that borders on
criminal breach of trust and illegal
diversion of public funds to the
tune of N400million.
In his testimony, the PW-3, told
the court that the court that
Metuh’s firm was among a total of
78 companies that allegedly
received payments from the ONSA
without executing any contract.
He told the court that since 2012
when he started working in the
legal department at the ONSA, he
never came across or prepared any
contract of any nature between the
ONSA and Destra Investment
Limited which is the 2nd defendant
in the matter.
Led into evidence by EFCC lawyer,
Mr. Sylvanus Tahir, the witness
said: “My lord, I am a civil servant
in the legal department of the
Office of the National Security
Adviser, ONSA. I have been working
there since 2012.
“My duties include vetting and
drafting contracts and
memorandum of understanding,
among other things. I don’t know
Metuh personally and I have not in
my official capacity known or heard
about Destra Investment Limited.
“I worked under Major General
Muhktar, Gen Aliyu Gusau, Gen
Azizia and later Col. Sambo Dasuki.
On November 28, 2015, the ONSA
forwarded a letter to the Chairman
of the EFCC titled “Payment of
contract without award”, for
necessary action.
“The letter forwarded list of
companies and individuals
numbering 78 and Destra
Investments Limited was one of
them.

See The Two Gay Men Caught Having Anal S .ex Inside a Jeep In Ikeja , Lagos

Two men, who had anal s.ex inside a jeep, were on
Tuesday docked at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. The
accused – Innocent Egbuna, 33, and Jide Ajayi, 21 –
are being tried for a three-count charge bordering
on conspiracy and act of gross indecency.
Egbuna, who claimed to be a soldier, lives at No.
22, Support Regiment, Ijebu-Ode in Ogun, while
Ajayi, an unemployed, is a resident of No. 28,
Owoduni St., Onipanu on Ikorodu Expressway.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Joseph Ajebe, told the court
that the offences were committed on Jan. 18 at
Ajao Road, Ikeja. According to him, the accused
were caught by an anti-crime patrol team at Ikeja.
“The accused were found inside a parked Nissan
Jeep with registration no. KSF 914 AC having anal
s.exual intercourse.
“Ajayi said Egbuna accosted him and told him to
have s.ex with him, promising to give substantial
amount of money and that he will also take him to
the club to have a nice time. “Ajayi agreed because
he was frustrated and did not have money to fend
for himself,” Ajebe said.
The offences contravened Sections 136, 166 and 409
of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 136 provides three years for act of gross
indecency, while Section 166 prescribes a N15, 000

term for conspiracy. The accused, however, pleaded
not guilty.
Ruling on the bail application of the accused, the
Chief Magistrate, Mr Alexander Komolafe, granted
the two men bail in the sum of N100,000 each with
two sureties each in like sum. Further hearing in
the case has been adjourned to Mar. 7.

See Why You Should Never Sleep With TV or Dim Lights On

Scientists are unanimous and say that sleeping
should take place in total darkness. When the sun
rises and daylight appears, our light receptors send
a clear message to the brain that it is time to wake
up. When darkness falls, the brain receives a signal
that it is time to sleep, so sleep hormone is
released. If during sleep you are exposed to a light
source, you will have a restless sleep.
This is because light significantly affects bodily
functions and rhythm of sleep and wakefulness.
Restless sleep, which occurs from sleeping under
light, can result in bad mood, sleepiness, and
difficulty in waking up.
Neurological studies have shown that sleep with
turned on PC or TV or any other light leads to bad
mood.
Therefore, if you have a habit of sleeping with the
TV or computer turned on, you need to try to get
rid of this bad habit as quickly as possible.
If you cannot sleep without a TV, then set the timer
on in order to reduce the consequences of poor
sleep.

'How Lekki Toll Gate nearly killed me!' - Woman narrates her story

Read what was sent in below..
My name is Omolara Adebis. I was driving
through the e tag express lane on the 19th
of Jan 2016 with three other people in the
car on my way from the office to pick my
son from school. I had a balance not lower
than twelve thousand naira on the toll
account. The car's e-tag was scanned and the
barrier remained open as usual for me to
pass when the thing suddenly dropped on my
windscreen as i passed through and the
whole screen cracked almost crashing on my
face. I parked and they lead me to their office
where they apologized and asked me to fill a
form which I did. They were very apologetic
and i just gave them my details without
causing a scene. I waited for them to contact
me and to my surprise they are singing
another story. Now the claim is that the toll
did not open for me it opened but for the
car before me. A toll that closed when the
car before me passed and opened again for
me to pass? I expected them to show me the
footage of the accident that day but they
didn't. Now they say they have looked at the
footage and i am at fault.
I suspect they have manipulated the video.
Aunty my point here is that there was a toll
malfunction that endangered the lives of all
of us in the car and the LCC is refusing to
take responsibility and trying to put the
blame on a paying customer. I have attached
the picture of the car and the form i filled.
My car is a BMW X3. Please help me
broadcast so i can at least get justice. It is
very unfair to blame me for their mistake!

2Baba speaks on alleged rift with Nigerian midfielder, John Mikel Obi

Few years ago, rumours emerged that Super
Eagles star, John Mikel Obi snubbed Nigerian
music icon, Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia at a
London nightclub.
Many believed and went ahead to opine that
this incident was what prompted the singer
to record the hit track Only Me .
Several years down the line, 2Baba, in a
recent interview with Brila FM, quashed the
rumours of such an incident ever taking
place and insisted that the song was never a
diss track nor about Mikel.
“I met John Obi Mikel for the first time at the
MOBO awards two years before I released
the song ‘Only me’, I won an award on the
night, Mikel congratulated me and alongside
P Square, D’Banj and Don Jazzy we all went
to hang out together,” the one time MTV EMA
winner told the sports radio station.
2Baba also revealed that when he heard
about the rumours at that time, he put a call
through to the midfield maestro and they
ended up having a laugh over the rumours.
He said: “At the time I did the song, Mikel
had issues with his inability to show up for
certain Super Eagles games, then some very
good rumour monger picked a line from my
song as regards patriotism towards
representing the National football team and
ran with the story of a rift between us, I
spoke with Mikel on the phone and we had a
good laugh about it.”

Kerosene to sell at N83 per litre.

The price of Household Kerosene (HHK) has
been increased from N50 per litre from N83
per litre, as the federal government prepares
to officially end subsidy payment on the
product.
The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory
Agency, released its product pricing template
released over the weekend- where it was
stated that N83 per litre price will only be
obtainable at the Nigerian National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Consequently, all other petrol stations and
dealers across the nation can sell at N33
higher than the initial amount.
According to the template of the PPPRA, the
Federal Government makes a profit of
N10.72 for every litre of kerosene sold at
N83 per litre while the Landing Cost plus
Total Margins was pegged at N72.28 per
litre.
The expected open market price is the
prevailing open market rate for the product
in Nigeria, after taking certain costs into
consideration.
The unexpected increase in the price of
kerosene is coming on the heels of the
worldwide crash of the price of crude oil and
petroleum products- kerosene, fuel and
diesel, among others.
At the beginning of the year, the federal
government announced the reduction of
pump price of petrol from N87 per litre to
N86.50k per litre.
The meagre reduction was described as
insignificant by the leadership of the nation’s
major opposition party- the Peoples
Democratic Party.

Ihedioha criticises Okorocha over 3,000 sacked workers

This dismissal of 3,000 workers by Imo state
governor, Rochas Okorocha has been strongly
criticised by the former deputy speaker of
the House of Representatives, Emeka
Ihedioha, who described the action as ‘most
reckless, insensitive and completely lacking
in economic sense’.
Ihedioha, through his media aide, Chibuike
Onyeukwu, also condemned the scrapping of
19 government parastatals, agencies and
departments.
“There is no doubt that the Nigerian economy
is facing a downturn as a result of dwindling
oil revenue but the solution is not arbitrary
disengagement of workers and scrapping of
key parastatals, such as the Hospital
Management Board, Imo Water Corporation,
Imo State Investment Promotion Agency, Imo
State Library Board, Agricultural
Development Programme and others.
“Having anchored his election campaign
mantra on job, industry, factory and
employment, Imo people looked forward to
more jobs, employment opportunities and
improved working conditions instead of
disengaging the already demoralized
workers.”
“Choosing to sack thousands of workers as
the only viable option to tackling the state’s
dwindled economic base is unfortunate,
senseless, uncharitable and anachronistic.”

Why You Must Avoid Carryovers At All Cost As An Undergraduate

Carry overs in the university system is normal; it
basically means a student has an unfinished
business. A student can only carry over a course
when he or she scores 39 downward in both C.A
and exam (over 100).
Carry overs are not in all cases a real reflection of
how intelligent or not intelligent a student is,
rather it's a reflection of how unserious, unsmart
(if that word exist), unchecked and uninterested a
student is.
I have seen highly intelligent students have
numerous carry overs and relatively dull students
pass through without carry overs. Such is life,
that's why a coin is two sided. Carry over can also
be a result of unfortunate and unlucky incidents,
such as missing scripts, lecturer's attitude
towards marking your script, or even a student's
handwriting (that's right).
I have once been a victim of an unlucky situation.
I was not around Kogi State when an assignment
worth 20 marks was been submitted, when I
heard about it I quickly rushed back to school
from Lagos to get mine submitted. Unluckily for
me, the lecturer in charge of the course is very
strict and sent me out of his office. I thought to
myself," I still have 80 marks to fight for so why
panic".
This lecturer is the kind that barely comes to class,
but he gave us a material to read ahead of his
exam. For most part of Monday evenings we'll
wait in class expecting him to come to class but
he never does. On the day I decided I wasn't
going to wait in class for him, he showed up in
class and seeing how scanty the class was he
decided to conduct test with the little number of
students in class.
The test was for 20 marks and I missed it, making
it 40 marks missed already which ruled me out of
contention to score an A. Words can't describe
how devastated I was during this period, my worst
fear of carrying over a course is lurking around
me. I tried bottling my sadness and fear until the
lecturer announced that marks will deducted for
every undotted Is and uncrossed Ts in his exam,
he was basically asking for a perfectly written
error free exam which looked impossible under
the sort of pressure we were in.
I prayed to God about the situation, focused a
little bit more on that course than the others, did
a whole lot of library work and research and when
the exam came around I completely smashed it,
narrowly escaping a carryover (which many of my
mates had) that would have completely changed
the dynamics of my academics.
Am still grateful to God till today, who knows what
it might have been....
Reasons why you must completely avoid carry
overs:
-It brings you down;
A) Academically: having carry-over means you
have F (0) in that course. It’s bad, it’s really bad.
Having an E(2) or a D(4) is far better than having
a carryover. It means you just scored 0 after
studying a course for a semester and it will
definitely reflect on your result.
B) Psychologically: having a carryover affects the
psyche of a student. It’s that evil. You don't feel
whole again, you won't feel yourself among your
peers anymore; you'll feel devastated, less
intelligent, less smart and so on. Carry overs
inflict serious psychological damage on the
bearer. It brings your thinking and psyche to the
lowest minimum.
C) Physically: keeping tabs with your main courses
is physically tasking enough, add carry overs to
that and you'll barely sleep at night. You have to
meet up with the time table of your main courses,
then meet up with the schedule of your carry over
courses, that's so physically demanding, it’s
almost like punishment.
-It's hard to recover: even though its technically
possible to recover from the evils of carry overs
and get your academics back on track, it's
extremely difficult and take so much
determination and hard work.
-The odds aren't favourable: the odds of you
graduating with a great result or a good result
shifts every time you carry over a course. Imagine
doing a carry-over course in place of an easy to
pass elective course...
- It leads to self-esteem issues: when you are
writing a carryover paper with guys that are below
you, it’s a hard hit on your esteem and confidence
level. You certainly won't be the most confident
person on campus, in fact you'll be the least
confident, if you're not then its either you're
shameless, delusional, dull or completely out of
touch.
- It’s a bad experience all together: the
demanding schedule, the insult by lecturers, the
embarrassment of writing a carry-over exam with
your "juniors"...it’s a bad experience all together.
How To Avoid A Carry Over:
-Never joke with your Continuous Assessment C.A
-Always be around class and get adequately
informed
-Serious studying: studying isn't every one's bread
and butter, not everyone enjoys reading and
reading, it’s not sweet at all, but you got to do it.
That's the way. Use the library to research helpful
information as much as you can.
-Do your calculations: your GPA and stuffs
-Always add to what you know
-Always do the conventional first: do what's
required of you in test or an exam first, and then
spice it up with the result of your research to the
lecturers delight.
-Be strong physically and psychologically: in KSU
only the strong will survive
-Use your time and work with schedule
-And finally and most importantly...Know your
God...
