>WHERE ARE THE SELF ACCLAIMED IGBO LEADERS? OF WHAT IMPORTANCE IS OHANAEZE NDIGBO TO THE IGBOS?
The clandestine ploy of the present government of APC to undo Ndigbo has started with the unwavering determination of Lagos state to destroy the economic strength of the Igbos. This, the government has demonstrated by the unwarranted demolition of the popular Oshodi market in Lagos state. The market is predominantly occupied by the Igbos in their large numbers. From what is available in the social media, the Yorubas are expressing huge excitement with the development that have left many Igbo people painfully bewildered.
Certainly, the Igbos are on their own again. This sad development has exposed serious indication that the so-called Igbo leaders and Ohanaeze Ndigbo cultural organisation is in fact not existing for Ndigbo and their interest, rather, for the personal interest of the members.
If these bodies were really for general Igbo interest, no government will treat Ndigbo the way and manner Lagos government has ill-treated them. This callous treatment from this APC led government could provide solid reasons for Ndigbo to think twice and look in the direction of the East where we can go and establish our trading activities - a move that may push us to drag the world to our home where no one can destroy our hard earned development again.
