People in Dalian, north-east China, were treated to a natural light show on the shoreline yesterday
Known as Sea Sparkle, the phenomenon is caused by algae which can wreak havoc on marine life.
Increasingly warm sea temperatures are thought to be behind the levels of algae in the area Cities across China including Qingdao and Shenzhen have reported Sea Sparkle
The phenomenon commonly known as Sea Sparkle has appeared on the shores of Dalian City in north east China's Liaoning province.
However pretty it seems, the algae can wreak havoc on the local marine life.
