Postinor-2 is one of the forms of emergency contraception pill, a medication used to prevent pregnancy
once sperm gets into the ovary , whether intentional or not during unprotected intercourse(sex). It has the capacity of preventing 95% of pregnancy in the first 24 hours after intercourse. Though, it is recommended that Postinor-2 be taken
no later than three days after having unprotected sex .
There are some reasons why people use postnor 2 and they could be ; Rape cases, if no contraceptive measure was used prior to sex , if the contraceptive measure used posed to be unreliable, tear of the condoms, improper calculation of free period etc . The truth remains that it has side effects despite its efficiency which are not good for women especially theyoung ones .
The side effects include;
*Prolonged or heavy bleeding for over 2 to 3 days (a gynecological
examination is advised )
*Your next period may be Lighter or heavier than normal
*Breast tenderness
*headache
*dizziness
*fatigue,
*Nausea feelings which is associated with vomiting
Changes /fluctuation in menstrual cycle of the lady.
